🌿 MeadowHeim
A Nomadic Combat Survival Mod Pack — v0.3.0 · Work in Progress
MeadowHeim is a total conversion mod pack for Valheim that transforms the game into a nomadic, combat-driven survival experience. The entire world is Meadows, but 7 invisible rings radiating from the center determine which biome’s mobs, loot, weather, and vegetation you encounter. There is no mining, no gear crafting, and no fixed home base — everything comes from combat.
🌍 The Ring System
The world is divided into 7 concentric rings around the world center. Every ring still looks like Meadows, but each exposes a different biome’s content. The further out you go, the harder it gets.
| Ring | Distance | Biome Content | Weather |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ring 1 | 0–1500m | Meadows — Boars, Necks, Greylings | Calm, sunny |
| Ring 2 | 1500–3000m | Black Forest — Greydwarves, Skeletons, Trolls | Occasional fog |
| Ring 3 | 3000–4500m | Swamp — Draugr, Blobs, Wraiths | Rain, dark skies |
| Ring 4 | 4500–6000m | Mountain — Wolves, Drakes, Stone Golems | Snow, blizzards |
| Ring 5 | 6000–7500m | Plains — Fulings, Deathsquitos, Lox | Harsh winds |
| Ring 6 | 7500–9000m | Mistlands — Seekers, Gjall, Ticks | Dense mist |
| Ring 7 | 9000m+ | Ashlands — Charred, Morgen, Voltures | Ash storms |
⚔️ How Progression Works
Forget mining and crafting. In MeadowHeim, your gear progression comes entirely from combat:
Weapons, armor, tools, and shields drop from mobs. Each ring drops gear appropriate to its biome. Starred mobs (⭐/⭐⭐) drop higher rarity loot — Magic, Rare, Epic, and Legendary via EpicLoot.
Need materials? Recycle looted gear at a workbench. A bronze sword becomes bronze bars. This is how you get building materials — there is no mining.
A placeable respawn point you can craft and set anywhere. Move it as you push further out. No permanent base required.
Portals are completely removed. You walk, you run, you fight your way forward. Every meter is earned.
Spend Soul Shards to expand your inventory. Each purchase adds a full row of 8 slots, with each row costing incrementally more shards. More loot means more room needed.
Mobs drop their loot the moment they die — no waiting around. Keep moving, keep fighting, keep looting.
Equip two one-handed weapons at once for twice the fun. Dual-wielding has its own skill that improves your off-hand damage as you level it up.
🐉 The Boss System
Bosses work completely differently in MeadowHeim:
Mobs drop Soul Shards. Collect them and craft a Boss Summoning Spell at a workbench. The spell is a hotbar consumable — use it anywhere to summon the boss. No altars needed.
The first time you summon a boss, it’s hostile. After defeating it, every future summon spawns that boss as a friendly ally that follows you at 20m distance and fights any hostile mobs. Allies have a 5-minute lifespan with a visible countdown timer.
Boss trophies are reusable power selectors. Use a trophy from your hotbar to activate that boss’s guardian power. Switch anytime by using a different trophy. The trophy stays in your inventory.
📊 Custom Boss HUD
MeadowHeim replaces the vanilla boss health bar with a stacked panel that supports multiple simultaneous bosses:
- Green bars = your allied bosses (with countdown timer)
- Red bars = hostile bosses you’re fighting
- Each boss gets its own row — summon 3 Bonemasses to fight a Fader, all tracked individually
🔔 Discovery Toasts
Since you can’t craft weapons or armor, vanilla “New recipe discovered!” toasts for those items are suppressed. Instead, when you loot a piece of gear from a mob for the first time, you’ll see a custom “New item found!” toast with the item’s icon.
💥 Double Mob Density
Mob spawns across all rings are doubled. Spawn intervals are halved and maximum spawned counts are doubled. This means more combat, more loot, and a world that feels alive and dangerous.
📦 Mods in the Pack
MeadowHeim runs on the Meadowheim Thunderstore profile. Here are the mods:
The MeadowHeim custom mod is the heart of the pack — it handles ring-based world generation, loot tables, boss allies, Soul Shards, mob density, and most of the gameplay changes you see on stream.
